Sam Karlson and Steve O Steen met in a club called “La Cave” located in French “Province” (Troyes)
Sam arrived in Paris coming from Tours where he has been resident during 3 years in the “Club 57”
He meets David Guetta who gives him a lot of support and his first residency at “Les Bains Douches” for PARADISIUS & PANDEMONIUM parties. He refines his musical style thanks to REACT parties organized by Dyed SOUNDOROM at “Les Bains” and where TERRY was resident.
2001-2002: residency at “La Loco” in Paris for ENJOY YOUR HOUSE parties with Simon Soul.
Sam claim’s several influences, from one side, American black music, particulary the 60’s soul and Chicago House, 80’s Pop on the other.
We can qualify his sound by “Jackin Funky House”
Steve, from his youngest age has been soaked by disco and funk. He started playing instruments before discovering raves where he has had the clic for “the mix” in 1994.Playing in several pubs and clubs of Troyes, his birth town, he got the opportunity to play on a weekly local radio house music show.
Then he met Antony Dupont (Communiqué Records) who introduced him to Hopis Tribe, a Dj “association” which promoted electronic music and organized parties and events.
Steve had the opportunity to play sides of Roussia, Oxia, John Thomas, Chaotik Ramses… in several events.Then he became one of “La cave” resident were he claimed Chicago house. He plays Fafa Monteco’s, Phil Weeks’s, Dyed Soundorom’s, Terry’s, dj Rhythm’s (from Chicago), Freddy’s…warm up.
Steve claim’s house music and “the groove” from Chicago under all shapes and aspects.
Steve and Sam became friends and play together in several parties, then they decide to work together on Chicago house tracks. They decide to organize “ROBSOUL PARTIES” with “La Cave”, inviting Robsoul’s boss: Phil Weeks
Today Steve & Sam produced Chicago house music for Robsoul.
