Info:

The art of the edit is a much argued topic. The skill goes far beyond, as Mark E recently stated “just adding beats at either end of the track”. Some, like E, have become synonymous for their enviable edit talents. Wilson, Harvey, Terje, Beedle are all at the top of their game when it comes to the delicate and ultimately respectful touch. Whether its reworking for the dancefloor, tweaking for your tastebuds or looking to inject a new freshness to the funk, the best edits are always remembered.
Today Phil Weeks’ Robsoul Essentials offshoot launches the first in a new series – Robsoul Edits – which sees a host of our friends and family select some of their favourite tracks from the catalogue and go to work on creating their very own collection of personal edits.
Taking the controls of Vol. 1 is one of the most creative and exciting artists from the Robsoul nu-skool, Around7. The Frenchman has chosen well, turning his talent on tracks from Nail, Joss Moog, Chris Carrier, Dave Dubbz and Lorenzo. Even the boss man gets a look in, as Around7 tickles and toys with Phil’s ‘P’s Theme’ and ‘Jack To My Groove’.
With Volumes 2 and 3 already confirmed and in the works this collection is looking to be one of Robsoul’s finest to date. Credit to the Edit!
