Always one for blooding new talent, Robsoul boss Phil Weeks welcomes Chris Stussy & Bas Roos to the label with their Ladies Night EP.
Having individually crafted their style and sound, sourcing samples and creating musical magic for the likes of Exploited and Nervous; it wasn’t long before their shared love of the ‘funk’ and playing the same stages, brought them together in the studio.
Summer ’16: Their ’Take My Swing’ EP on Nite Grooves marked the start of a exciting production partnership. Their ‘Ladies Night’ Ep opens with the block party vibe of the title track, spreading its kool with an inviting guitar riff, soaring string samples and smooth keys.
The rest of the EP follows suit, as our appetite for the groove is sated by a trio of striking party-starters in ’Testing Me,’ ‘Funk Alive’ and ’Trust You Game’. Stunning.
