Info:
The next instalment on the ever-reliable imprint Robsoul is a 3 track EP, ‘El Urban’, from Ander B, a new producer from the Dominican Republic which is due for release on 20th June 2014.

The three sample based tracks (spot the Blaxploitation classic that’s been cut up in the second track) vary in mood from discoesque-tech to cut and paste deepness but all have the same raw energy and all are the result of live jamming on Ander’s Akai MPC. Drawing on a rich variety of musical influences, from salsa, latin, jazz, soul and disco, the EP has been put together to capture the feel of, in Ander’s words, “…a portrait of the urban third world, like el barrio and los callejones…”.  The outcome is a fresh sounding package of dance floor orientated tunes.

Ander B describes himself as a “DJ, Producer and Live P.A. Artist” and he works on his MPC the same way a DJ plays a set, jamming for hours on end to produce a seamless live show.  The hours spent hunched over his drum pads have clearly paid off in this, his first EP.   He is planning to move to Barcelona, continue to develop his live shows in Europe and already has a follow up EP also signed to Robsoul.

Release Date: June 20th 2014
