Having impressed with his Robsoul debut – Love Like This – back in April of last year, Hideto Omura, the Berlin based Japanese artist, makes a much anticipated return with latest stunner ‘Move It Like You Know’.
Omura’s natural beat running, mixing swing and selection have always guaranteed an enviable energy and electricity on dancefloor and these vibes, plus an impressive ear for a sample, that he’s impressively transferred to his own productions. Anbrace of early releases caught the attention and support of Robsoul boss Phil Weeks and lead to last years appearance on the label, and now we’re super happy to welcome him back.
The latest four track selection opens with the raw 80’s vibe of the title track. The classic, static sounds of the drum machines are playfully matched with the children’s vocal to create a simple and pure party anthem. Omura rolls with the tribal rhythms, percussion and singing on ‘My People’, before turning us on our heads once again with the rampant, jazzy, horn-driven dance of ‘Swing & Shout’. Beautifully oscillating bassline, rimshots, hats and horns, together make for a joyous musical moment. Closing things out is ‘Breaking It Down’. Oh that bassline, those keys, the chimes and even a cowbell thrown in for good measure. Could we feel any better right now?
