Bienvenue à la discothèque! Our host for this evening is The Mekanism. Having held down residencies at Ushuaia and Paris’s legendary Social Club and toured régulièrement, this man knows his way around the dances. He knows his way around the studio, too.
‘My Disco’ brings the party to life; if the lolloping bassline doesn’t grab you, those authentic pops and bubbles most definitely will. ‘Funny Time’ continues with a beautiful light footed vibe and dreamy rising chords; sheer uplift for those essential level up transitions in the warm up. Next up we have straight up loopy filtered finesse as ‘Don’t You’ brings a little sample saviour faire; sultry, silky, timeless, it sets us up for ‘Fly’. A dreamy adieu with stretched out horns, splashes of strings and a clipped vocal textures, the chords say ‘au reviour’ but those rolling congas and bumping kicks say ‘à bientôt’. Don’t be a stranger
