Channelling everything he’s learnt from his inaugural releases into his new alias, Spanish talent Ralph now levels up with this statement of an EP: ‘Werk It’ conjures the feels of west coast hip-hop through jacking beats while both the opener ‘Is That Good Enough’ and the closer ‘She’s A Star’ are pure disco, all sultry, shiny and slinky. And if that’s not enough, buried deep in the middle of this pedigree groove trove is a killer remix of the unstoppable Demuir and bossman Phil Weeks’ ‘To Be A Star’. Keeping that bumping groove, the mischievous synth blasts and those killer spoken words of wisdom, while adding a funky broken texture to the drums, it’s a very kindly reminder that this Rose will blossom for a very long time.
