Easy now. Italian fusionist GgDeX returns to Robsoul with a genuinely dazzling collection of intriguing house cuts. Energetic, loaded with character and not shy of the leftfield, each track takes us to funky town in its own unique way.
With its big keys, that nagging loopy vocal and a sense of momentum that’s reminiscent of a Derrick Carter set, ‘Untitled’ is so damn funky it doesn’t even need a name. It sets the pace for the rest of the EP: ‘Slow Motion’ is a cosmic strut around a glitterball moon, ‘Lightbox’ takes us deep into Compton on a groove made in Detroit while the EP title track is a must-check trip for everyone. Super tight slap bass, sweeping keys, big claps, bigger kicks: ‘It’s Easy’ is one of GgDex’s hottest disco infernos. Easy does it.
